Ride Bike to South in the Mountains Part 1 of 7 (Colorado)
The habitation was on the market and later sold for a lot more. The old Waterford. The old turn table.
The beginning of the journey. This is a good rig for anything, including Patagonia. Follow up: Carradice waxed canvas saddle bags are the best saddle bags. They are waterproof, can be re-waterproofed, and can be repaired. If you tear a bag on a rock, log, or crash, you can sew a canvas bag. You can't sew a waterproof PVC bag. These rear bags would tear in the deep ruts of Patagonia. The bags in front were perfect. I eventually acquired rear bags in canvas, giving my Ortlieb-styled rear bags to my friend Gustavo. I also switched out my tent, ground mattress, and sleeping bag. Note: some riders are 'hot' riders and sleepers. Their hands and feet do fine with little. They sleep well with little cover. If are this type of rider, then heavy tents and gears will be unnecessary. If you ride 'cold' and sleep 'cold,' then you need better riding and sleeping gear. You need to do a week-long test ride in real conditions to determine your style.
Camping in the higher altitude. Good riding during the day, but the tent and the bag were not good for the cold at night. I had to swap the tent and bag later for Patagonia. I should have realized this on the Colorado trip. Patagonia in Winter is cold and wet and the best gear is needed.
The rig covered in ice.
The sandals covered in ice.
The young man happy with the sun
Moraline called this "ripio." In English it means 'gravel.' Colorado ripio.
